Design Stream has worked extensively over the years with Japanese bathroom manufacturer Sekisui, evolving contemporary European bathroom schemes. The most unusual collaboration to date came about when Sekisui approached us with new steam generation technology for domestic sauna use, called Sekisui Spa. The client requested that we investigate ways that the system could be implemented into the Japanese bathing experience.

Design Stream's focused market research and feasibility studies found that a way of strengthening the in-bathroom sauna experience was to offer a scented sauna. It identified the product's potential and directed this business opportunity to the extent that Design Stream proposed Aromist, a new fragrance brand for Sekisui Spa. Design Stream then created product packaging to work exclusively with Sekisui's steam generation system.
