As Design Stream's directors, Miles and Chaz complement and build on each other's strengths. Chaz excels in thinking laterally, while Miles has the ability to design the project as well as the product. Working together, they guide a skilled team and offer a broad innovation funnel to explore and champion the development of groundbreaking ideas.

Chaz Nandra
Chaz read Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College, followed by a post graduate degree in Industrial Design Engineering at the Royal College of Art, where he met Miles.

He worked in Japan at the Sekisui Jushi Corporation, before returning to the UK in June 1997 to build on the foundations of the business which formed Design Stream.

Chaz has a passion for nurturing creativity and has been a visiting tutor at the University College of Creative Arts since 1998 and from 2002 at the Royal College of Art.

Design Stream's founding directors are Miles Pennington and Chaz Nandra. Both partners started their careers in Japan, spending several years practising as product innovators, before applying this knowledge and skill to their own innovation consultancy service. Design Stream has since worked extensively throughout South East Asia.

Miles Pennington
Miles graduated from Exeter University with a degree in General Engineering in 1990. He met Chaz on a post graduate degree in Industrial Design Engineering at the Royal College of Art.

Miles was employed at the Sekisui Chemical Corporation in Japan for 4½ years, working on a range of design projects, from house-wares to housing design. In January 1997 Miles established the roots of Design Stream.

Miles is also a visiting tutor at the Royal College of Art.
